ANXIETY & DEPRESSION
Anxiety. What is this yuck feeling?!
Anxiety is a natural human response that arises when we are stressed. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what is ahead. For example, having an important presentation at work or going on a first date can cause some people to feel nervous and fearful.
Anxiety, although unpleasant, can light a fire under our butts to get things done or motivate us to work harder. Ordinary anxiety is a feeling that comes and goes but doesn’t get in the way of everyday life.
But if your feelings of anxiety are constant, last for at least 6 months, and interrupt your ability to function and carry out typical day-to-day tasks, you may have an anxiety disorder. In this case, the feeling of fear is intense and at times debilitating.
